Do I need to have the boxes in the room first?
Yes, if possible. Having the boxes near the setup area helps the appointment go smoother. If boxes need to be moved from another area on the same property, our builders may be able to help as long as it can be done safely.
Should I open the boxes before you arrive?
You do not need to fully unpack everything, but please confirm that all boxes have arrived before your appointment. If there is visible damage to the boxes or product, please let us know before the appointment.
What types of indoor furniture do you assemble?
We assemble many types of indoor furniture, including beds, dressers, desks, tables, chairs, bookshelves, cabinets, entertainment centers, nursery furniture, and similar household items.
Do you assemble furniture from IKEA, Amazon, Wayfair, Walmart, Target, and other retailers?
Yes. We assemble furniture from many major retailers. Please provide the product link, photos, or item details when requesting a quote so we can give the most accurate estimate possible.
Do I need to clear the room before the appointment?
Yes. Please make sure the room or setup area is clear and accessible before we arrive. If the area is blocked, cluttered, unsafe, or not ready, the project may be delayed, rescheduled, or repriced.
What if my furniture arrives damaged or has missing parts?
If the product is damaged, missing parts, or has defective pieces, our builder will let you know when the issue is found. Manufacturer defects, damaged parts, missing pieces, incorrect instructions, or poor product quality are not the responsibility of Hand2Hammer Services. A return visit may be needed once replacement parts arrive, and additional charges may apply depending on the situation.
Do you anchor furniture to the wall?
Yes, when requested and when it can be done safely. Some furniture may require anchoring for safety, especially tall dressers, bookshelves, cabinets, or children’s furniture. Specialty hardware may be needed depending on the wall type and product.
Can you move assembled furniture after it is built?
We may be able to move smaller assembled furniture short distances within the same room or property if it can be done safely. Heavy, oversized, fragile, or difficult-to-move items may require additional labor or may not be movable after assembly.
Can you fix furniture that was assembled incorrectly by someone else?
In many cases, yes. However, we cannot guarantee that previously damaged, stripped, weakened, or incorrectly assembled furniture can be fully restored.
Do you remove packaging?
We clean up the work area after assembly. We can break down boxes and place packaging in the customer’s designated trash or recycling area when requested. Haul-away or large-volume disposal may require an additional fee.
